It's been a tumultuous last couple of months for Adelaide, who have tumbled down the ladder and this week received confirmation that head coach Carl Veart would be moving on at season's end. Certainly not an ideal scenario for a club in a huge top six battle, but the good news for Adelaide is they have a nice run to end the regular season, with three of their next four games coming against teams already out of the finals picture.
Perth are on a four-match losing streak heading into this encounter and appear destined for another wooden spoon. Glory have however scored in all four of those defeats, so Adelaide winning with both teams finding the back of the net is the play for this clash.
- Glory have lost their last four games
- Adelaide are unbeaten in the last nine meetings between the teams
- Adelaide have won six of their 10 away games this season
- Glory have scored in their last four defeats
Head To Head
Adelaide are unbeaten in the last nine meetings between the teams, winning five. The most-recent contest resulted in a 2-2 draw at Coopers back in Round 6.
Perth Glory Form
It's been another nightmare campaign for Glory, who are anchored to the bottom of the ladder and are likely to pick up back-to-back wooden spoons.
Perth are level on points with Brisbane Roar, but they've played two more games and have a significantly worse goal difference, so Glory will need to find wins from somewhere to avoid the spoon.
It doesn't look like happening though - Glory have lost their last four games the Wanderers, Brisbane, Mariners and Western United, conceding 3+ goals in all four defeats.
Perth Glory Team News
Glory are without young gun Joel Anasmo for the remainder of the season after he agreed to join Korean side Jeonbuk Motors on a deal until June.
Adelaide United Form
Adelaide were one of the form teams in the A-League to start the season, due in part to a fantastic away record that saw them win their opening six games on the road.
However, the Reds have struggled considerably over the last couple of months, winning just one of their last 10 games.
Dropping out of the top six as a result, Adelaide now have a mountain to climb in order to secure finals football. That task was made harder following last week's 3-2 loss to Sydney at home, with the Reds conceding in the 94th minute.
Adelaide United Team News
Ryan Kitto will be sidelined for this game due to concussion protocols.
Verdict
It's time for Adelaide to get back to winning ways and this represents the perfect opportunity.
I'm backing the Reds to collect all three points, but Perth can score in defeat.
