After suffering their worst defeat since 2016 in a 5-2 loss to Brisbane, the Victory failed to respond and fell short in a 2-0 loss against Western Sydney.
A facial injury to striker Marco Rojas exacerbated the club’s woes ahead of their match at home against the Newcastle Jets.

Rojas is expected to miss another week after he received several facial stitches after receiving a high boot against the Wanderers.
Roux will also be sidelined due to concussion, while Traore remains doubtful after limping off late in the loss against the Jets.
Centre-back Nick Ansell also sustained an injury in the last match and will not be risked due to the tight turnaround.
Socceroo Robbie Kruse played the full 90 minutes against the Jets for the first time this season, while McManaman was taken off after 60 in his first match in a month.

Striker David Ball will miss another match due to suspension while fellow forwards Tomer Hemed and Jaushua Sotirio will miss with respective hamstring and knee injuries.
