Head to Head
This will be the first-ever meeting between these two sides.
Macarthur Form
Macarthur have enjoyed a steady start to their inaugural season, sitting third after seven rounds.
Despite going down 3-0 at home to Sydney FC and losing captain Mark Milligan to suspension, the Bulls have since bounced back with two promising results.
Debut goals from defenders Aleksander Jovanovic and Aleksander Susnjar helped Macarthur to a 2-2 draw with the in-form Western Sydney at home.
This was followed by the club’s best win yet as they toppled league leaders Brisbane Roar 2-0 away from home.
After an uninspiring first half, Macarthur came to life in the second. A debut goal for midfielder Denis Genreau in the 70th gave the Bulls the lead, before ex-Blackburn striker Matt Derbyshire sealed the win with a long-ranged effort in the 90th minute.
Macarthur Team News
Head coach Ante Miliic rested several of his older players last week.
Basque imports Markel Susaeta and Benat Etxebarria came off the bench against Brisbane and should be right to start against the Reds.
Right back Ivan Franjic should also return to the starting line-up after coming off the bench in the last match.
Adelaide United Form
As entertaining as the Reds have been, they have dipped in form over the last few weeks.
A 1-0 win at home against Melbourne Victory courtesy of a goal from 16-year-old forward Mohammed Toure was followed by consecutive defeats.
The Reds went down 3-1 away to Brisbane, with the side missing several key players including forward Tomi Juric due to injury.
This was followed by a 2-1 defeat at home to the Glory, with Adelaide even opening the scoring through captain Stefan Mauk in the 20th minute. Though injuries to winger Yaya Dukuly and defender Michael Jakobsen saw Adelaide surrender this lead.
Adelaide United Team News
Tomi Juric made a successful return from a groin injury against Brisbane Roar, while Spaniard Javi Lopez still requires a fitness test after injuring his calf.
No midweek games could prove to be a blessing for both Jakobsen and Dukuly who both limped off in the loss against Perth. Neither player has suffered serious damage and will be in contention to feature.
Fullback Ryan Strain will once again miss with a groin injury as will midfielder Ryan Kitto who is nursing a knee injury.
