Head to Head
Western Sydney have an 11-10 advantage in the head-to-head with eight draws in 29 encounters.
Their last meeting saw Brisbane record a 3-1 win. Scott McDonald netted a brace while midfielder Jay O’Shea slotted a penalty to seal the result.
Brisbane Roar Form
While Brisbane are winless in their last seven matches, they have walked away with a draw from four of those.
The Roar managed to hold reigning champions Sydney FC to a 1-1 draw at home with forward Dylan Wenzel-Halls scoring and goalkeeper Jamie Young making several crucial saves.
A 1-0 loss away to Western United followed, before Brisbane shared the points with Wellington in another 1-1 draw. Forward Golgol Mebrahtu’s 86th minute equaliser ensured Brisbane would snatch a point after Wellington took the lead just before the break.
Brisbane Roar Team News
Forward Scott McDonald is Brisbane’s only notable absentee. The 37-year-old will spend another week on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Western Sydney Wanderers Form
It appears Western Sydney have regained their impressive form from earlier in the season.
A late goal from forward Kwame Yeboah helped the Wanderers to a 4-3 win over Wellington. Captain Mitchell Duke scored a contender for goal of the season with his volley from distance, while ex-Cardiff midfielder Jordon Mutch also contributed on the scoresheet.
This was followed by a 3-0 win at home against Perth. Duke starred with a brace while ex-Melbourne Victory attacker James Troisi scored his second goal for the club.
Though this winning run would come to an abrupt end in the form of a 4-1 loss away to Melbourne City.
Western Sydney Wanderers Team News
The Wanderers will once again be without veteran goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic due to a shoulder injury.
