The Waratahs had a poor 2024 Super Rugby season, finishing bottom of the table. They did put in some strong performances but failed to cross the line on too many occasions – their only two wins came against the Crusaders.

This season started better with the Waratahs getting over the line in round one at home, beating the Highlanders 37-36. It was a cracking game of rugby union, one which could have gone either way, but unlike last season, the Waratahs managed to win a close one.

The Tahs’ had a bye last weekend.

Fijian Drua Form

Fijian Drua have improved every year they have been in Super Rugby, making the top eight in the last two seasons. Their away form is certainly something that will need to improve, though.

The Drua are winless after two rounds of 2025 Super Rugby but that isn’t for the lack of trying. They have come up short by four points in both their opening games.

In round one, the Drua lost 36-32 at home to the Brumbies, a game they will be kicking themselves for not seeing out. Last weekend, away from home, Fijian Drua put up an almighty fight, losing 38-34 to the Hurricanes.

While their attacking prowess is as potent as ever, the Drua need to short up defensively.
