Moana vs Waratahs Tips

This is a clash between the bottom two sides on the table. It should be exciting although the overall quality may be lacking, given their position on the table. That said, Moana at home can be a tough proposition so I’m backing them to cover the -1 handicap.

Head to Head

In their two previous meetings, each team has won one game. Last season, Moana won 33-24.

Moana Form

Moana are second from bottom on 14 points with three wins in 12 games. The only side below them is their opponents, so this is a fight to avoid the wooden spoon.

The last victory Moana had came at home against the Reds on 12 April. Since then, they have lost to Fijian Drua away, Highlanders at home, Chiefs at home and last week at the Hurricanes.

That said, Moana have been impressive in some of those games. They have only lost by more than 11 points on occasion in that run.

Moana Team News

Subs: Tomasi Maka, Tevita Langi, Sekope Kepu, Ola Tauelangi, Alamanda Motuga, Siaosi Nginingini, Christian Lealiifano, Henry Taefu

Waratahs Form

The Waratahs have only won two game this season and both of those came against the Crusaders. While they’ve competed well on occasion, the season has just gone from bad to worse for them.

The Sydney-based outfit will be looking to climb off the bottom of the table with a win here though. Last week they lost 27-7 at the Western Force in a poor performance. Prior to that, the Tahs’ took the Brumbies to the wire, losing 29-21 in Canberra.

Waratahs Team News

Subs: Ben Sugars, Lewis Ponini, Michael Scott, Miles Amatosero, Fergus Lee-Warner, Jack Grant, Jack Bowen, Vuate Karawalevu
