New Zealand vs South Africa Tips

New Zealand were excellent against Argentina in their opening match as they blitzed the Pumas early-on to secure a 41-12 win in their first outing.

South Africa also impressed in their first game as they put Eddie Jones' Australia to the sword in a 43-12 win.

New Zealand Form

The worry for New Zealand was that they would be very rusty coming into their opening Rugby Championship match on the back of an underwhelming tour of the northern hemisphere in 2023, with their 25-25 draw with England at Twickenham epitomising their inconsistencies of late.

However, they were excellent against the Pumas as they ran in three tries in the opening 15 minutes before leading 31-0 at half-time. While they did technically lose the second-half 12-10, the damage was already done as the All Blacks romped to a win.

Now, New Zealand know they can all but win the Rugby Championship by downing South Africa in this one before then taking on Australia in their final game. With the Rugby World Cup on the horizon, the All Blacks know a dominant win against the Springboks will have the rugby world fearing them once again.

South Africa Form

South Africa managed to easily defeat Australia 43-12 in their last match as they kicked their Rugby Championship campaign off in stunning style.

Eddie Jones' men had hoped for a winning start to the championship, but South Africa picked up from where they left off against England back in November as they humbled the Aussies in a 43-12 win that put their power and running game on full show.

Now, the Springboks arrive for this one as the underdogs, but they should not be ignored. The traveling side are looking to defend their World Cup crown in France this year, and a win over New Zealand on the road would show every side at the tournament that the Springboks are as likely as any team to triumph in France.

I am backing this one to be a very tight clash in which South Africa come out on top against their opponents. The Springboks have looked excellent in recent times, and I believe they will stun their opponents.
