Back to his brilliant best in the autumn with victories in the Lightning and TJ Smith Stakes, Nature Strip has shown no signs of slowing down in his first trial ahead of the 2021 spring, bolting in by a big space at Rosehill on August 26.
In a 900m heat under Glyn Schofield, the six-time Group One winner went straight to the front in a small field which included stable mates Madam Rouge, September Run and Subpoenaed, with the son of Nicconi travelling comfortably throughout despite the widening margins.
While the seven-year-old did have early use of the Rosehill circuit, his times were still far superior to any other heat of the morning, completing the 900m on a Heavy 8 in 54.94, more than six lengths quicker than the next fastest trial of the morning and at 34.57 for the last 600m, was fastest home (only two heats broke 35 seconds).
Nature Strip was the first horse confirmed for The Everest, competing in Chris Waller's slot for the $15 million dollar feature on October 16, which he's currently favourite for.
