Stay Inside has impressed in his first public hit out ahead of the spring, winning a 900m trial at Randwick on July 27 with Tommy Berry aboard.
Stalking early leader Riodini who was back at the trials following a disappointing first-up performance in the Winter Stakes, the son of Extreme Choice showed his sprinting prowess late, with a comfortable 1.34 length margin recorded.
It was a small, but strong field assembled for this 900m hit-out, which included eight-time Group One winner Verry Elleegant and the Chris Waller-trained mare was as impressive as any runner in this heat, working to the line strongly under her own steam.
With a time of 52.68 clocked for this 900m trial, Stay Inside's heat has gone more than eight lengths faster overall than the second workout from Royal Randwick on Tuesday which was won by Prime Star.
The Richard & Michael Freedman-trained colt will be out to buck the Golden Slipper curse which has affected seven of the last eight winners of this feature two-year-old race.
Farnan (2020), Kiamichi (2019), Estijaab (2018), Capitalist (2016), Vancouver (2015), Mossfun (2014) and Overreach (2013) never won another race after their Golden Slipper victories.
