The Aussies have struck in the opening race of Royal Ascot 2025, with Mark Zahra saluting aboard Docklands in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes.
Despite losing his whip over the concluding stages, Zahra was able to get the better of Rosallion (favourite) in a photo finish and secure a maiden Group 1 victory for the Harry Eustace-trained entire, who finished runner-up in the 2024 edition of the Queen Anne Stakes.
A five-year-old who is owned by OTI Racing, Docklands featured over the 2024 Melbourne Spring Carnival, with a fifth on Australian debut in the Cox Plate before recording a sixth-place finish in the Champions Stakes at Flemington.
Tuesday's Queen Anne success secured a 36th Group 1 victory for Mark Zahra, who has ridden five Group 1 winners over the 2024/25 season in Australia.
