There's been an upset result in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot, where Crimson Advocate came from the rear of the seven-horse field under champion jockey James McDonald.

The four-year-old showed a brilliant turn-of-foot and in the process, she opened up a comfortable margin on Cinderalla's Dream, with the Group 1-winning Godolphin mare starting as a well-supported favourite in the fillies and mares feature.

James McDonald is now a five-time winner at Royal Ascot, with Expert Eye (2018), Nature Strip, Dark Shift and Missed The Cut (all in 2022) being J-Mac's prior victories at this famous carnival.
Wednesday's result makes Crimson Advocate a dual winner at Royal Ascot, with the daughter of Nyquist victorious in the 2023 Queen Mary Stakes as a two-year-old.

The Group 2 triumph also secured a sixth Duke Of Cambridge Stakes win for trainer John Gosden and the last three of those have been in partnership with his son, Thady.

In the feature event on day two, John & Thady Gosden made it a race-to-race double with Ombudsman, who was a brilliant winner of the Group 1 Prince Of Wales's Stakes.
