Exciting Queensland galloper Rothfire has sent an ominous warning to rivals ahead of a Sydney Spring Carnival tilt with a commanding two and a half length victory at the Doomben trials on August 11.

Jumping straight to front under jockey Jim Byrne who is planning to ride the talented son of Rothesay in Sydney, Rothfire cruised to the line for a soft win over 840m in a time of 50.87 (second fastest heat) and at 33.95, was the only trial to break 34 seconds for the last 600m at Doomben on Tuesday morning.
The Rob Heathcote-trained three-year-old was last seen taking out the Group One JJ Atkins on June 6 in what was one of the more impressive two-year-old performances last season.

Rothfire is set to return to the races this season via the Group Two Run To The Rose at Rosehill on September 12 before going straight on to the $1 million dollar Golden Rose on September 26 where he's currently the $7 second market elect with Sportsbetting.com.au behind the 2020 Golden Slipper winner Farnan at $6.

He's set to have another hit-out in a fortnight's time at the trials in Brisbane before heading to Sydney.
