Last seen at the races when running away with the 2020 Golden Slipper back in March, Farnan backed-up his impressive August 14 trial return with a more dominant showing over the 1050 metres at Randwick with his 3.8 length heat win recorded in 1:01.99 (Good 4 surface) which was clearly the fastest for the morning.
After taking the lead early under Hugh Bowman, the son of Not A Single Doubt extended away late for a strong win from group one-winning stable mate Shout The Bar in second with Splintex (third) and dual group one-winning two-year-old King's Legacy back in fourth.
The Waterhouse & Bott-trained colt last 600m was run in a time of 33.07 which was comfortably the slickest on a morning which included eight 1050 metre heats.
Farnan is set for a racing return in the Group Two Run To The Rose (1200m) on September 12 ahead of a likely tilt at a highly anticipated edition of the Group One Golden Rose (1400m) on September 26 where he's currently the $5 second favorite with Sportsbetting.com.au behind the dominant Up & Coming Stakes winner North Pacific.
