Nine runners have accepted for the 2021 Expressway Stakes which includes star three-year-old Ole Kirk who has drawn barrier one for this first-up assignment over 1200m.

By Written Tycoon and out of a full sister to champion sprinter Black Caviar, the stud resume is building perfectly for this superbly bred colt who has won two stallion-making Group One's via the Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas.

He's one of three Group One winners that are set to kick-off their campaigns in this Group Two feature with Kolding (barrier three) and Flit (barrier eight) in the final field which also includes Standout (barrier five), who won the 2020 edition of the Expressway Stakes in impressive style.

The only runner that is not racing first-up is the John O'Shea-trained Southern Lad (barrier four) who has trialled since a midfield finish in the Group Three Standish Handicap on New Year's Day
