Cataylst Withdrawn From The All Star Mile
New Zealand star Catalyst has been withdrawn from the All Star Mile following veterinary advice.
The Clayton Chipperfield-trained import, who ran second to Alligator Blood in the CS Hayes Stakes, was sent to the Ballarat Vet Clinic as a precautionary measure following a disappointing run in the Group One Australian Guineas.
While there were no plans to withdraw the horse from the All Star Mile, the Chipperfield camp has advised Racing Victoria stewards that the star three-year-old has bruising to his four fetlocks and will now be spelled.
Chipperfield admitted he was disappointed that Catalyst had to be scratched from the All Star Mile but is optimistic this won't be his first trip across the Tasman.
“He has had a great season and he will come back better," Chipperfield said.
The team will now set their sights on the new feature race of the Sydney spring with huge prize money on offer at Rosehill Gardens.
“(I'd) love to target the Golden Eagle with him.”
There has been no official word yet from Racing Victoria but it is expected that star Godolphin runner Avilius will take Catalyst's place in the line up as the race's first emergency.
