Champion hoop Glen Boss is well renowned for making a statement on how good a horse is, but his most recent opinion could be one of the most accurate he has had in some time.
2021 Blue Diamond winner Artorius has been labeled a superstar by Boss after what was a flashing light run in the Golden Slipper last autumn.
“Artorius I think could be anything,” Boss said in the Ladbrokes Group 1 Year In Review series.
“This horse doesn’t even know he’s a racehorse yet and he’s amazing.
“I think he’s a superstar this horse and he’s in the right barn.
“When I looked at him in the enclosure I could just see so much growth and he trialled like he was a drunk the Sydney way.
“He did the same in the Golden Slipper.
“And somehow when he managed to get balanced he was actually the red light one coming home.
“He could be in everything who knows."
As for the Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside, Boss believes that he could be the horse to break the winner's curse, with She Will Reign the last winner to go on and subsequently win as a three-year-old.
“Last year’s race lacked any quality and the form proved it,” Boss said.
“I guarantee this race is going to throw up a lot of good horses and there are even horses that got beaten four or five lengths that I thought had potential.”
