Asfoora has broken through at Group 1 level with victory in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes (formerly King's Stand Stakes), which is the headline sprint on day one of Royal Ascot 2024.

Arriving to Tuesday's assignment off a fourth-place finish at Haydock via her European debut, the Henry Dwyer-trained mare travelled strongly behind the leaders before being produced under Oisin Murphy and despite veering in at key stages, she recorded a comfortable victory.
Asfoora joins Choisir (2003), Takeover Target (2006), Miss Andretti (2007), Scenic Blast (2009) and Nature Strip (2022) as Australian winners of this five-furlong sprint feature, which was renamed as the King Charles III Stakes in 2023 to mark the King's 75th birthday.

After being passed in at the 2020 Adelaide Yearling Sale when bids failed to meet a $30,000 reserve price, Asfoora was retained by her breeder (Noor Elaine Farm) and after Tuesday's King Charles III Stakes triumph, her career prizemoney is now in excess of $2.4 million, with nine wins and four placings recorded from 19 starts.

The daughter of Flying Artie has also secured a place in the 2024 Breeders' Cup Sprint, which will be contested at Del Mar on November 3.
