After catching the eye of most racing fans on debut back in June, the royally bred, Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained Argentia returned back to the official trials on Monday morning in what was her first appearance since that dominant win.
She raced in heat eight at Cranbourne, beating three other horses under double wraps while the rest of the field was scrubbed along to keep up.
Argentia is by champion racehorse Frankel out of group one star Princess Coup, so this filly was always going to be one that gets eyes drawn to her.
Although the form from her debut win has not exactly stacked up, she wasn't expected to feature over 1100m down the Flemington straight, starting at $7 in betting, expecting to improve over more ground into her three-year-old seasson.
Argentia is currently favourite for both the Thousand Guineas and VRC Oaks, and will likely be aimed first-up at the Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) run at Moonee Valley on September 4 in preparation for her spring campaign.
