Arcadia Star, a full-sister to three-time Group One winner Arcadia Queen, has recorded a debut win at Belmont on Wednesday.

Sent out on the second line of betting as a $5.50 chance, the three-year-old was able to settle in the box-seat early under Chris Johnston-Porter from barrier one and after a perfect run on the back of Our Bonny Gossip (leader), was able to hit the front at the 200m and hold off Madame Pro late.

Racing in the famous cerise and white of leviathan owner/breeder Bob Peters, Arcadia Star is the 10th foal from the dam Arcadia, who has produced four individual stakes winners; Arcadia Dream, Arcadia Prince, Arcadia Queen and Arcadia Rose.
Arcadia Prince is the only runner of that stakes-winning quartet not to have won on debut, with Arcadia Queen also successful via a 1200m midweek Belmont maiden in September, 2018, before winning the Group One Kingston Town Classic less then three months later.

After a tendon injury forced her retirement from racing, Arcadia Queen was sold for $3.2 million to Arrowfield Stud last year.
