The 2024 US Presidential election is fast approaching, with the main event in politics in America set to be held on November 5, 2024.

With the election now mere weeks away, bookmaker Picklebet have earmarked Donald Trump as the big favourite to win the election at $1.36, but is he the candidate to back?

Donald Trump is the current favourite to become the next President of the United States of America, and he is priced at $1.36 with Picklebet.

His odds have shortened further after he was shot in the ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13th. Trump's campaign have confirmed that he is okay, and images quickly circulated of Trump, surrounded by secret service agents, defiantly raising his fist, covered in blood.

This has seen Trump's odds shorten further with the chances that he will become the next US President edging towards 75%.

Current President Joe Biden is available at $6.00, with Kamala Harris ($9.00), Michelle Obama ($19.00) and Gavin Newsom ($21.00) the only options currently available below $30.00.

These odds come as the Republican Party have become the favoured party to win the US Election. Trump is seeking re-election for a non-consecutive term after losing his power to Biden back in 2020. The winner of the election is likely to be inaugurated on January 20, 2025.

Trump has rushed out into the lead in the betting despite seeing an incredibly tight election race four years ago.

Biden secured just over 50% of the vote while Trump secured just under 47%. This time round, the odds suggest that Trump will become the US President.

Meanwhile, the odds allude to it being almost as likely that Biden's potential running mate Kamala Harris will become President as Biden is.

With the election set to take place in November, the odds will likely shift a lot as day-to-day events impact the race. This could see Biden close the gap between himself and Trump, while it could also see Trump's odds shorten further.

This may also see other candidates become more viable, especially if Trump and Biden are to drift in the betting as the race edge towards it's close.

Who do you think will become the next President of the United States? Will Donald Trump secure a second non-consecutive term in offer, will Joe Biden make it a second consecutive term, or will someone else become the latest POTUS?
