Wests Tigers vs New Zealand Warriors Tips

The Wests Tigers will take their home game against the New Zealand Warriors over the Tasman to FMG Stadium in Waikato, which may sound peculiar. However, it may be a stroke of mastery as the Warriors are winless in Hamilton.

Time will tell if the Warriors can break their hoodoo, but either way I am going to back unders. I predict that the game will stay under the Game Total of 48.5 on the basis that I can’t see the Tigers scoring over 16 points for the fourth straight game against NZ. The Tigers haven’t defended left centres well recently so a try to Rocco Berry looks the goods.

  • The Game Total has hit the UNDER in the last 3 games between Tigers and the Warriors, and also in the last 3 games between the two clubs in New Zealand.
  • The last 3 games involving the Tigers have gone UNDER the Game total.
  • The Tigers have not scored over 16 points in their last 3 games against the Warriors, and also in the last 3 games between the two clubs in New Zealand.
  • The opposing left centre has scored 4 tries in 4 games against the Tigers.

Head to Head

The Warriors have won the last five against the Tigers, winning both games in 2022.

To note, the under has hit in the previous three meetings between the two clubs, and also in the last three games played in New Zealand.

The Tigers have not won in New Zealand since round 5, 2018.

Wests Tigers Form

The Wests Tigers fell to their ninth straight defeat against the Canberra Raiders last weekend.

Once again the Tigers failed to stretch the defence of the Raiders, even though they had the weight of possession and territory.

It now looks like the West Tigers will inevitably take the wooden spoon for the second year running.

New Zealand Warriors Form

The Warriors won their seventh match in eight games, taking care of business against the Titans on the Gold Coast last week 28-18.

However, the win was done in less convincing fashion than expected considering they played with an extra man for the majority of the match.

The positive for the Warriors is once again the form of fearless leader Shaun Johnson who bagged a double in the match along with two Try Assists, two Linebreaks and a Linebreak Assist.

Verdict

Unders are the way to go in this one with the Game Total and the Tigers Team Total out of reach in Waikato. Rocco Berry will get over as the Tigers have conceded 4 tries in as many games to left centres.
