New Zealand Warriors and Newcastle Knights get Saturday's NRL Round 16 action underway when they go head to head at Scully Park in Tamworth. The Knights have posted three successive wins, while the Warriors are in good form after winning three of their last four games to set up an interesting fixture.

Warriors Form & Team News

New Zealand Warriors made it three wins from their last four games when they defeated bottom side the Canterbury Bulldogs 20-14 last week. The only defeat over the last month came at the hands of ladder leaders Penrith Panthers, who they pushed close two weeks ago.

The latest win took New Zealand to 6-9 for the season, but in 12th spot on the ladder and two wins adrift of the Cronulla Sharks in eighth, the finals look just out of reach.

The Warriors make two changes with halfback Chanel Harris-Tavita and Eliesa Katoa returning to the side in place of Paul Turner and Isaiah Papali'i

The Warriors team to play on Saturday is below:

1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 2. Adam Pompey 3. Hayze Perham 4. Peta Hiku 5. George Jennings 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Chanel Harris-Tavita 8. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown 9. Karl Lawton 10. Lachlan Burr 11. Eliesa Katoa 12. Tohu Harris 13. Jazz Tevaga 14. Wayde Egan 15. Adam Blair 16. Daniel Alvaro 17. Jack Murchie 18. Isaiah Papali'i 20. Gerard Beale 21. Josh Curran 22. Paul Turner

Knights Form & Team News

The Knights have won their last three with last week's 12-0 victory over the North Queensland Cowboys following contrasting wins over Wests Tigers (by 42 points) and Manly Sea Eagles (by 2 points).

The arrival of Blake Green has signalled an improvement in form to see the Knights sit inside the eight in seventh spot and firmly on course to play finals footy.

But the Knights have been dealt a cruel blow with the loss of new recruit Green for the season. His place goes to Mason Lino, while Star To'a will need to pass concussion tests to play after being named. Daniel Saifiti is not risked as the Knights opt against bringing him back too soon.

The Knights team to play on Saturday is below:

1. Kalyn Ponga 2. Starford To'a 3. Enari Tuala 4. Gehamat Shibasaki 5. Hymel Hunt 6. Mason Lino 7. Mitchell Pearce 8. David Klemmer 9. Kurt Mann 10. Jacob Saifiti 11. Lachlan Fitzgibbon 12. The Warriors have a good record against the Knights - the Round 1 defeat aside - and are value in this one.

With three wins in four, New Zealand are on their best run of form since 2018.

Newcastle's three-game home stint is over, and the Warriors can give them a scare at the very worst.
