Both sides have had solid starts to their seasons thus far, with 4 wins and 2 losses apiece. Both the Roosters are the Dragons will be looking to bounce back from Round 6 defeats.

Over the last three rounds, both sides have scored 62 points with the Dragons conceding just five points more than the Roosters. It looks set to be a tight game, but the Roosters are the best attacking team in the NRL at present and can edge it with a strong record at the SCG.

  • Sydney Roosters have won 17 of their 21 games at the SCG since they made the iconic ground their home in 2019.

Sydney Roosters Form

The Roosters opened the season with back-to-back hidings of lowly sides Manly Sea Eagles 46-4 and the Wests Tigers 40-6.

A Round 3 26-16 loss to South Sydney Rabbitohs also saw the Roosters lose both their halves due to injury.

They bounced back though with wins against the New Zealand Warriors 32-12 and the Cronulla Sharks 26-18, before losing last weekend to the reigning premiers Melbourne Storm 20-4.

Sydney Roosters Team News

The Roosters have had a very good start to the year, especially when the impact of injuries is taken into account.

Already the club has lost halves Lachlan Lam and Luke Keary – both of whom were injured in Round 3.

Hooker and club captain Jake Friend has been forced into retirement and his replacement Freddy Lussick also got injured. Boyd Cordner hasn’t played all year and could well retire soon too.

This weekend they have made just two changes from last weekend. Brett Morris returns, pushing Matt Ikuvalu out of the side, and Sam Verrills will line up at hooker with Benjamin Marschke on the bench.
