Both teams will look to get their season back on course after a rough period of late, which will need to be done sooner rather than later as the loser of this match will most likely be sitting outside of the 8 heading into round 24.
I expect this game to be a real shootout between the Rabbitohs and the Sharks and can see the Game Points Total and the Sharks Team Total getting smashed. Both teams have plenty of points in them and have been doing it tough defensively so we could be in for a real treat on Saturday night.
Keaon Koloamatangi looked back to his best last week against the Tigers so I am backing him to score a try in consecutive weeks.
- The Sharks have been held under 18 points just 5 times this season.
- Souths have conceded 18 points or more in 8 of their last 9 games.
- 7 of the last 9 games involving the Rabbitohs has gone over the Game Total
- The Sharks have conceded a try to a second-rower in their last 3 matches.
Head to Head
South Sydney did enough to get a nine-point victory against Cronulla in round one this season 27-18.
The Rabbitohs have had the better of the Sharks in recent years, winning four of the last six since 2019.
South Sydney Rabbitohs Form
Souths looked the goods in the first-half against the Tigers last week, scoring four tries to one. However they let the Wests back in with a sniff in the beginning of the second half to make things much more tense than they needed to be.
Souths got away with a 32-18 victory which was just their second win in their last six games.
The return of Latrell Mitchell certainly boosted the Rabbits last week, but they will need to put together a full 80 mins if they are going to be considered serious contenders for the premiership.

Cronulla Sharks Form
The Sharks are diving hard and fast out of the top 8 after losing 3 on the trot. Their most recent loss against the Panthers 28-0 has raised some big questions of Craig Fitzgibbon’s men, who were completely outclassed by the competition leaders.
It was no surprise that the Sharks were held scoreless after only managing 12 tackles inside Penrith’s defensive 20.
No writeup should be complete without mentioning the gallant effort of Cam McInnes’ 84 tackle heroics against Penrith, which truly shows what a legend of the game he is, as well as the pure force of the Panther’s Possession and Territory in that match.
Cronulla Sharks Team News
In a massive loss for the Sharks, fullback Will Kennedy has been ruled out for an extended period. Connor Tracey will take up the role at the back and Ronaldo Mulitalo will return to the wing.
Jesse Colquhoun is back on the bench with Oregon Kaufusi dropping out of the side.

Verdict
Everything points towards plenty of points in Perth so we will see the Game Total and the Sharks’ Team Total hit against Souths.. Keaon Koloamatangi will cause trouble for the Cronulla on the right edge and cross for a try.
