Canberra Raiders and Sydney Roosters meet in a crucial match at the top of the ladder at GIO Stadium on Saturday. It is fourth-placed Roosters against fifth-placed Raiders with the winner sitting inside the top four at the end of NRL Round 17.

Raiders Form & Team News

Canberra sit level on points with their opponents with an 11-5 record following three straight wins over the Brisbane Broncos, Gold Coast Titans and Canterbury Bulldogs since losing to ladder leaders Penrith Panthers.

The big question is whether the last year's beaten Grand Finalists can perform against the top 4. The Raiders have lost to the Panthers, Melbourne Storm and Parramatta Eels this season, although they did beat the Roosters in Round 10 in a Grand Final rematch.

Curtis Scott was initially named, but has since been ruled out of the game and replaced by youngster Matt Timoko. Corey Harawira-Naera is back in the squad after missing last week, while Josh Papalii and Siliva Havili return with Dunamis Lui and Tom Starling dropping to the bench.

The Raiders team for Saturday is below:

1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Jordan Rapana 3. Jarrod Croker 4. Matthew Timoko 5. Nick Cotric 6. Jack Wighton 7. George Williams 8. Josh Papali’i 9. Siliva Havili 10. Ryan Sutton 11. John Bateman 12. Roosters Form & Team News

The Roosters bounced back from defeat to Melbourne Storm three weeks ago by handing out heavy defeats to the Wests Tigers (38-16) and Brisbane Broncos (58-12). The 96 points the last two weeks means the Tricolour boast the leadin attack in the competition.

Four of Sydney's five defeats this season have come against the teams in the top five, going down to the Panthers, twice to the Storm and to the Raiders a couple of months ago. Can they show their best in Canberra?

Sonny Bill Williams makes his return after being named on the bench. Luke Keary has been selected in place of Drew Hutchison but will need a late test, while captain Boyd Cordner is back in the starting line-up at the expense of Nat Butcher with Poasa Faamausili dropped.

The Roosters team for Saturday is below:

1. James Tedesco 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Josh Morris 4. Joseph Manu 5. Brett Morris 6. Luke Keary 7. Kyle Flanagan 8. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves 9. Jake Friend 10. Siosiua Taukeiaho 11. Boyd Cordner 12.
