World Club Challenge Wigan Warriors vs Penrith Panthers Anytime Tryscorer and First Tryscorer Tips
The Penrith Panthers will be out for revenge after their 13-12 golden-point loss in the 2023 World Club Challenge to the Catalans Dragons last year on their home soil. They now get a chance to avenge the loss, travelling to the U.K. to take on the Wigan Warriors in the 2024 World Club Challenge.
This game is expected to be very low scoring with the two best teams in their respective competitions locking horns, which means you need to be on point with your try scorers as the opportunities are likely to be few and far between.
Aussiebets experts have put together their picks for anytime tryscorer and first tryscorer in the 2024 World Club Challenge.

Wigan Warriors vs Penrith Panthers Anytime Tryscorer and First Tryscorer Tips
Brian To’o- Penrith Panthers
The Panthers winger is the favourite in both tryscoring markets and for good reason. Firstly, he was Penrith’s leading tryscorer last season with 21 tries in 23 matches for the mountain men. Secondly, with this being Penrith’s first real hitout in 2024 you would expect that halfback Nathan Cleary will look to the most comfortable options in the Panther’s first few attacks, which means he will definitely be moving the ball to the right side of To’o.
The Samoan has also pretty decent first tryscorer stats in his career, getting the first four-pointer 3 times last season and 13 times in his career.
Dylan Edwards- Penrith Panthers
When the time comes and Penrith are on attack, Dylan Edwards is almost certainly going to be involved in some way shape or form. The Panthers fullback will be lingering out the back and if Cleary sees the gap the ball will go behind to Edwards if To’o is getting covered or a cheeky kick will go through and the 2022 Clive Churchill Medalist will pounce . A passage of play we have seen all too often.
Dylan Edwards was the first tryscorer twice in 2023 along with his 12 tries throughout the season. The Panther has 44 tries and was first 6 times in his career that spans over 8 seasons.
Bevan French- Wigan Warriors
It is no secret that former Parramatta Eel Bevan French wants back into the NRL after spending the last 5 seasons playing for Wigan. The Warriors five-eight would like nothing more than to get over the line against the NRL’s benchmark team the Penrith Panthers and stake his claim as a must-sign for next season.
French has had an illustrious career in the Super League which was capped off by not only being the orchestrator in Wigan’s premiership win, but also taking the league’s highest honour, winning the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel award.
The 28 year old was no slouch around the tryline for Wigan last season, scoring 17 tries along with his league leading 30 try assists for the Warriors.
Verdict
Aussiebets top 3 picks for First Tryscorer are: Brian To'o, Dylan Edards and Bevan French.
