Parramatta Eels NRL 2024 Predictions, Projections and Player Movement

Parra’s starting 13 would see them return to the finals but the depth in their forwards is where the question marks begin to appear. We saw last season that when Paulo and Campbell-Gillard are out of the side for various reasons the Eels really struggle for go-forward and are too susceptible to soft tries through the middle and that’s why we see them missing the eight.

Parra come into 2024 with virtually an unchanged side from their lineup in 2023, which means Brad Arthur hasn’t had any selection headaches and has now had another full year with the same squad. 

Mitch Moses, Dylan Brown and ‘King’ Gutho are as good as any 7,6 & 1 combination in the game and the Eels pack is stacked with two NSW front rowers Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Junior Paulo and lock J'maine Hopgood that is on the fridge of a QLD origin debut.

Consistency was the biggest problem for the 2022 Grand Finalists in 2023, falling from grace hard and missing the finals. The Eels never recovered from their slow start to the season last year losing their first 3 games of the year and fighting an uphill battle from there on out.

The Eels have a starting 13 that can compete with the best but when Paulo and Campbell-Gillard are out of the team due to representative duty or are injured or suspended, which they were often last year, the Eels struggled for go-forward and were susceptible to some really soft tries on their own line.
