The Dolphins season will come under siege and come unstuck as it did in their inaugural year with their depth being tested more than any other club this season with the loss of so many of their starting 13. The Eels are going to strike and electrify the Dolphins in Darwin with a big win, just as they did last season against the newcomers.

The Eels looked like a new side with Daejarn Asi filling in for the injured Mitch Moses. They were much more organised and halves partner Dylan Brown appreciated the shared creative load which unlocked his running game.

The Eels can be petrifying when they get going and with King Gutho looking in the best form of his career Parramatta are not to be mucked around with, if they can put in a repeat performance like they did against the Cowboys last week.

The Dolphins injury woes are a huge hole with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow joining the list of Herbie Farnworth, Felise Kaufusi and Tom Flegler who were already out for an extended time. The Dolphins looked flat at best against the Broncos last week and were no real threat in attack besides their two meaningless late tries.

I expect the Eels to build on their last week’s performance and really put the Dolphins to the sword, covering the 7.5 points as the favourites in Darwin. After watching the attack of the Dolphins last week I don’t see them really challenging the Parramatta line a whole lot and predict that they will score less 17.5 points in the match.

The points could come thick and fast for the Parramatta Eels if they get on a roll and I expect that Clint Gutherson will be in the middle of the action as he often is in Darwin.

The Eels looked all but gone after their second loss without Mitch Moses when they went down to the Raiders 41-8 in round 5 and slumped to a 2-3 record. But in stepped Daejarn Asi who gave the Eels some shape and creativity that they were missing along with a solid kicking game that had the Cowboys on the back-foot in the Eels 27-20 victory.

Asi and halves partner Dylan Brown combined well with the important stat being that Brown had 118 run metres in the game, taking on the line and opening things up for his team. Asi was also able to take the kicking load off his halfback sharing the duties, which was not the case with Baize Talagi the week prior.
