Parramatta Eels vs Brisbane Broncos Tips

The Eels and Broncos clash on neutral ground in Darwin. Will that help the Broncos, who have had travel sickness outside of Brisbane? It's unlikely given their troubles on the road.

Head To Head

Parramatta Eels have won four in a row against Brisbane Broncos, including a 24-16 victory at Suncorp Stadium in Round 1 this season.

The Eels trailed 16-0 at the break in their season opener before blitzing the Broncos with an impressive second-half performance.

Parramatta have now won seven of their last nine matches against the Broncos with the last four being by eight or more points.

Parramatta Eels Form

Parramatta ended a long-standing hoodoo last weekend when scoring a first win at GIO Stadium since 2006 as the Eels defeated Canberra Raiders 35-10.

A four-try second-half performance was arguably the Eels' best 40 minutes of the season. They led 12-10 at the break and kept the Raiders scoreless in the second period.

It was the perfect tonic for Brad Arthur's side, who had lost their unbeaten record when going down 26-12 to the St George Illawarra Dragons the previous week.

The Eels had won their opening four games with victories over Brisbane Broncos, reigning premiers Melbourne Storm, Cronulla Sharks and Wests Tigers.

Parramatta Eels Team News

Ryan Matterson's return to action from concussion was put on hold last week as he was a late withdrawal, and he may not feature again this weekend despite being named in the reserves.

The Eels do welcome back Dylan Brown from suspension with five-eighth Will Smith dropping to the bench.

Keegan Hipgrave is in the reserves as a result and Jordan Rankin joins him on the extended bench.

Brisbane Broncos Form

The Broncos put up a spirited performance at home to ladder leaders Penrith Panthers last weekend before succumbing to a 20-12 defeat at Suncorp Stadium.

Brisbane led 12-10 at half-time and it took a 78th minute try from Nathan Cleary to finally see off the Broncos resistance.

It was a third straight loss for Kevin Walters' side, who are now 1-5 for the season.

They suffered heavy losses to Melbourne Storm 40-6 and South Sydney Rabbitohs 35-6 in the previous two weeks.

Danny Levi comes onto the Brisbane Broncos bench after signing from affiliate club Norths Devils, who he has been representing in the Queensland Cup, on Tuesday.

The Broncos also have named Herbie Farnworth in the centres following a shoulder injury.

Farnworth's return means Richie Kennar drops out altogether, while Jesse Arthars and Tyson Gamble both come onto the reserves bench.
