Sydney Roosters vs Melbourne Storm

The Roosters are coming into this on the back of a fine upset win in Newcastle and have James Tedesco back on deck - even though Joey Manu was great at fullback last week with nearly 350 running metres. The Storm were lucky to beat Canterbury abd the bookies can’t split them - both paying $1.90. Tough game. Go Smith to score - in great form.

Tony’s Tip: Brandon Smith anytime try ($4.75 bet365)

St George Illawarra Dragons vs New Zealand Warriors

The Warriors are hot favourites to win this one - even though they were lucky to secure a draw with Manly last week and the Dragons looked slick in beating the Tigers. I think the bookies have it right - but beware late changes to the Kiwi team - they have a few players with injury ‘niggles’.

Tony’s Tip: Warriors -6.5 points ($1.95 JustBet)

Parramatta Eels vs Dolphins

The Eels have caused punters plenty of angst in the opening rounds of the season with patchy form - but the win over the Cowboys last week may prove a turning point. The Dolphins are missing several key players and have poor depth - they could struggle here.

Tony’s Tip: Penisni anytime try ($3.00 Ladbrokes)

Penrith Panthers vs Wests Tigers

The Tigers were awful against the Dragons last week - but the return of boom rookie Lachlan Galvin from suspension is a huge boost. Even so, the Panthers should be too strong and too experienced and shape as one of the best bets of the round against the spread.

Tony’s Tip: Panthers -13.5 points ($2.00 BlueBet)

Gold Coast Titans vs Manly Sea Eagles

The Titans look a far stronger side with AJ Brimson at five-eighth and were the better side beaten against the Raiders last weekend in their best showing of the year. Manly are a very dangerous scoring machine however and should win -  but with both teams having plenty of points in them I like overs.

Tony’s Tip: Over 47.5 points ($1.91 PlayUp)

Brisbane Broncos vs Canberra Raiders

The Broncos are still without several key players, but at home, they rarely lose, particularly with the massive crowd pressuring referees. They did a good job of putting away the Dolphins last week, whereas Canberra were awful in limping over the line against the Titans. Reece Walsh the key.

Tony’s Tip: Walsh anytime try ($2.30 Neds)

Canterbury Bulldogs vs Newcastle Knights

The Bulldogs are slowly finding their best combination and did a great job in pushing the Storm all the way to the finish last week. The Knights were poor against the Roosters but with the likes of Kalyn Ponga and Bradman Best out wide, have too much strike power.

Tony’s Tip: Knights -1.5 ($1.97 Bet365)

Cronulla Sharks vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

The Sharks have been the most consistent team in the early rounds and sit atop the NRL ladder looking good things for a top four berth. Souths was a danger game last week but they handled the task well. The Cowboys have been up and down and looked very patchy in losing at Parra last week - it’s shaping as another roller-coaster season for the NQ boys.

Tony’s Tip: Mulitalo anytime try ($1.77 WinnersBet)
