The 2024 NRL season moves into Round 27 this week with eight games taking place from September 5-8. Tony Adams provides "Moley's" best bets for the last regular season weekend.

Brisbane Broncos vs Melbourne Storm

The Broncos are a broken club after dipping out of the finals race in spectacular style last weekend, thrashed by the Dolphins. They will want to make a statement in their final game  and have superstar Reece Walsh back on deck. But Craig Bellamy has brought back 10 players rested last week and it’s hard to see anything other than a Storm win.

Tony’s Tip: Storm / Storm - HT/FT ($1.45 EliteBet)

Wests Tigers vs Parramatta Eels

The game everyone has been waiting for - the Spoon Bowl - will be played before a full house at Campbelltown. That gives the Tigers a slight edge but the Eels have the better team on paper. Both teams prefer attack to defence and I reckon the safest bet is to go overs - there should be plenty of tries.

Tony’s Tip: Over 52.5 points ($1.91 bet365)

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Sydney Roosters

The Roosters’ title hopes hit the wall last week, beaten by Canberra but more importantly losing Brandon Smith, Daniel Tupou, Nat Butcher, Sam Walker and Victor Radley. Arch rivals Souths would love to add to their misery but also have a major out in Jack Wighton. Roosters but not by much.

Tony’s Tip: Roosters 1-12 ($3.40 PlayUp)

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Canberra Raiders

With Emre Guler, Ethan Strange and Jamal Fogarty back on deck, the Raiders are looking to finish the season on a high after last weekend’s fine upset win over the Roosters. But two key men Elliott Whitehead and Jordan Rapana will be missed. The Dragons were awful in a 44-40 loss to the Eels last week but are also strengthened with Mosese Suli and Jacob Liddle returning.

Tony’s Tip: Jamal Fogarty 10 plus points

Canterbury Bulldogs vs North Queensland Cowboys

The Bulldogs get Stephen Crichton back from suspension but lose key backs Bronson Xerri and Matt Burton. They will want to improve on last week’s poor display at Manly against a Cowboys team that struggled to beat a second-strong Storm outfit. Both teams are playing for spots within the top eight with the finals coming a week early. It should be tight and close.

Tony’s Tip: Under 48.5 points ($1.91 Picklebet)

Penrith Panthers vs Gold Coast Titans

The Panthers have looked a little clunky in recent weeks and have one last chance to make things right before the finals against the Titans - a fast, athletic team that will test their defence. Scott Sorensen’s return boosts the premiers and they should prove too classy, especially at home.

Tony’s Tip: Izack Tago anytime try ($2.10 Marantelli Bet)

Manly Sea Eagles vs Cronulla Sharks

The game of the round and a massive clash, but Manly have been hit hard by the loss of backline strike weapons Jason Saab and Tom Trbojevic. Their record without Turbo isn’t good - but the Sharks have been patchy of late and looked very flat in losing to the Warriors last week. Tough game to tip.

Tony’s Tip: Under 50.5 points ($1.91 Picklebet)

Newcastle Knights vs Dolphins

A massive game to end the regular season, with the winner set to play finals footy and the loser dipping out. The Knights welcome back Tyson Frizell and Tyson Gamble while the Dolphins are bolstered with Jesse Bromwich, Kodi Nikorima and Tesi Niu back on deck. It will all come down to whether the Phins can contain the Knights’ brilliant Kalyn Ponga.

Tony’s Tip: Dolphins head to head ($2.15 Marantelli Bet)
