The 2024 NRL season moves into Round 11 this week with eight games taking place in Magic Round from May 16-19. Tony Adams provides his best bet.

Canberra Raiders vs Canterbury Bulldogs

The first game is the hardest of Magic Round, with both teams hot and cold in the early rounds of 2024. The Dogs are slight favourites with the bookies after coming close against premiers Penrith last weekend while the Raiders will be fresh off the bye.

Tony’s Tip: Raiders Win ($2.32 EliteBet)

Manly Sea Eagles vs Brisbane Broncos

Manly are once again without Turbo Tom but have a fine replacement in boom youngster Tolu Koula. The Broncos also have their problems with general Adam Reynolds set for a long stretch on the sidelines. But the Broncos still have plenty of strike power while the Sea Eagles need to bounce back after a dreadful showing against the Dolphins last week.

Tony’s Tip: Broncos HT/FT ($1.90 bet365)

Gold Coast Titans vs Newcastle Knights

The Titans are in the midst of an injury crisis with all three halves out of action. So Des Hasker has taken the unusual step of playing his two hookers - Chris Randall and Sam Verrills - at 6 and 7. It’s his only option but it won’t work - get on the Knights.

Tony’s Tip: Knights 13+ ($2.40 PlayUp)

Cronulla Sharks vs Sydney Roosters

Shapes as the game of Magic Round with both teams looking genuine title contenders. The Roosters have scored 130 points in the past three weeks and the Sharks have also been great. Nicho Hynes is in some doubt so wait until we hear about his fitness before you have a bet.

Tony’s Tip: Over 41.5($1.85 BoomBet)

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs North Queensland Cowboys

Two big under-performers go head to head - and it’s a game that isn’t easy to make money on as a result. Both have big names who aren’t firing and scoring points has been a problem, so expect a scrappy affair with few tries.

Tony’s Tip: Under 49.5 Points ($1.91 Ladbrokes)

New Zealand Warriors vs Penrith Panthers

It’s troubled times for the Warriors - everyone saw them as potential grand finalists a few months back but injuries and poor form have cut a swathe through their campaign. Both teams go into this without their chief playmakers - Shaun Johnson (NZ) and Nathan Cleary (Penrith) but the Panthers have too many big guns.

Tony’s Tip: Panthers 13+ ($1.80 bet365)

Melbourne Storm vs Parramatta Eels

It’s dark days at Parra in 2024, with wins hard to come by and key players missing. The Storm were sailing smoothly until a shock loss to a Nicho Hynes-less Cronulla at home last week. The Storm rarely lose two on the bounce and will hit back strongly this weekend.

Tony’s Tip: Will Warbrick anytime tryscorer ($2.05 JustBet)

Wests Tigers vs Dolphins

The Dolphins amaze me - only in their second season yet have built up a formidable culture and resilience. In the midst of an injury crisis, they beat Manly last weekend and are a team that is never beaten. Will have too much class for the toothless Tigers.

Tony’s Tip: Dolphins -7.5 ($1.91 bet365)
