North Queensland Cowboys Form

North Queensland have lost their opening two games of the season. The Cowboys didn’t trouble the scorers in a 24-0 defeat at Penrith where they completed 59% of their sets, missed 42 tackles, made 18 errors and conceded 7 penalties.

Todd Payten’s side hosted St George Illawarra last week and went down 25-18. Coen Hess, Valentine Holmes and Jake Granville crossed for tries but it wasn’t enough to get the job done.

North Queensland improved in many key areas; completing 76% of their sets (32/42), missing 32 tackles, making 13 errors and conceding 3 penalties.

Todd Payten called out captain Jason Taumalolo following the Round 1 loss and accused his team of either being scared, confused or too fatigued in the loss to St George Illawarra. Expect a reaction here.
