Newcastle Knights ended a two-game losing run with a hard-fought 18-10 victory over the Manly Sea Eagles last weekend.

The Knights' defence stood up to the test as they limited the previously free-scoring Sea Eagles.

The victory followed a run of just two wins in nine games, including losing 36-18 to Wests Tigers and 36-20 to North Queensland Cowboys in the previous two rounds.
