New Zealand Warriors vs Wests Tigers Tips

Wests produced their best performance of the season last week, but haven't won two games in a row in more than a year. The Warriors have hit a sticky patch in the season and don't appeal as short-priced favourites.

Both sides have been involved in high-scoring games of late, and over 47.5 points is the way to play this game.

  • New Zealand Warriors have lost 5 of their last 7 matches.
  • New Zealand Warriors have seen 52+ points in 3 of their last 4 matches.
  • New Zealand Warriors have seen 54+ points in 4 of the last 8 matches against Wests Tigers.
  • Wests Tigers have lost 10 of their last 13 matches.
  • Wests Tigers have seen 54+ points in their last 2 matches.
  • Wests Tigers have seen an average of 47.6 points per game this season.

Head to Head

Wests Tigers hold a 5-2 head to head advantage from the last seven matches against the New Zealand Warriors.

The Warriors did take out last year's meeting with a 26-20 victory. The game continued a high-scoring trend in matchups, with eight of the last nine hitting 40 points or more.

New Zealand Warriors Form

A 34-18 defeat to Parramatta Eels last weekend means it is now five losses in the last seven games for the Warriors.

Having won twice in the opening three rounds, New Zealand have taken the points on just two more occasions.

Consistency has been the real problem for the Warriors, although four of their defeats have come against last year's finalists.

New Zealand Warriors Team News

The Warriors have lost Josh Curran for a number of weeks to an elbow injury.

Bayley Sironen and Rocco Berry are also ruled out this week.

Marcelo Montoya comes into the starting line-up on the wing and Jack Murchie is named in back row.

In another change, Kane Evans has got the nod for the prop role ahead of Jazz Tevaga, who drops to the bench.

Wests Tigers Form

Wests produced their best performance of the season in Magic Round to thump Newcastle Knights 36-18.

It was a second win in three weeks for Michael Maguire's side, who also got the better of St George Illawarra Dragons 16-8 in Round 8.

Sandwiched in between those was a 36-28 home defeat to Gold Coast Titans which was a seventh loss of the season.

Wests Tigers Team News

Wests Tigers go in unchanged following last week's win over Newcastle Knights.

Wests' reshuffle of the backline worked the oracle last week as two-try Adam Doueihi starred and Moses Mbye and Luke Brooks also had an impact.
