The Sharkies once again have an easy schedule and their squad is tight. Their win total in 2024 should reflect that of 2023 with a balanced squad and solid coaching tactics.

What’s to like

Cronulla are one of the teams that are primed to be fighting for a premiership. Their playing squad has the right mix of youth and experience, they have quality playmakers in Hynes and Trindall, the forward pack can be devastating and their flyers are at times unstoppable.

Again Cronulla have been gifted an easier than average schedule, as they have the previous 2 years which should almost guarantee a top 8 finish. Adding to the schedule the Sharks are an above average team in Run Metres (1483m/gm) at 4th in the league, Linebreaks (5.7/gm) 2nd in the league and Opposition Run Metres (1385m/gm) again 4th best in the NRL.

What’s NOT to like

Even though the Sharks have one of the most talented and well balanced rosters in the NRL there still seems to be something lacking. I can’t quite put my finger on it but at times over the past few seasons the Sharks have just been underwhelming.

They hit the league average of Missed Tackles coming in at around 30 per game but other than that most of the metrics on both sides of the field they excel in. Yet they still manage to lose games. If i was a Sharks fan i would be weary of any injuries to key players seriously derailing the campaign, the depth chart in this squad isn’t as comprehensive as i would like it to be.
