  • Canterbury Bulldogs have lost their last 6 matches.
  • Canterbury Bulldogs have conceded an average 39 points in their last 6 matches.
  • Wests Tigers have won their last 2 matches against the Canterbury Bulldogs.
  • Wests Tigers have lost 5 of their last 6 matches.

Head-to-Head

There have been 38 games played between these outfits, with the Bulldogs leading the Tigers 23-15.

The Tigers have won the last two encounters, both of which were in 2020 with a 34-6 win in Round 7 and a 29-28 victory in Round 14.

Canterbury Bulldogs Form

The Bulldogs' season has been one of very little joy. They lost their opening six games, cementing their place at the very bottom of the ladder.

In Round 7 they scored a last gasp victory over an out-of-form Sharks side 18-12, only to then lose another five straight games.

They dominated a woeful Dragons side 28-6 but have seemingly got worse since, losing their last six games and conceding almost 40 points a game in the process.

Their season was over many weeks ago, so now they are trying new combinations in preparation for 2022.

Canterbury Bulldogs Team News

Nick Cotric and Raymond Faitala-Mariner are both gone for the rest of the seasons with foot injuries.

The Bulldogs will be without Chris Smith for at least another week, while Christian Crichton, Ofahiki Ogden and Luke Thompson will all be available for Round 23.

The selection axe has been wielded this week with Jayden Okunbor and Kyle Flanagan both dropped.

Falakiko Manu comes onto the wing while Jake Averillo returns at halfback, joining rookie Bailey Biondi-Odo.

Nick Meaney also returns and slots in at fullback, pushing Corey Allan to the other wing.

Renouf Atoni has been replaced in the reserves by Jackson Topine, while Ava Seumanufagai will line up in the front row, pushing Dylan Napa to the bench, where he will be joined by rake Sione Katoa.

Wests Tigers Form

The Tigers season has never really got going. They dropped their opening two games and have been playing catch up ever since.

Wests recorded back-to-back victories against the Dragons (34-18) and an understrength Penrith (26-6) before suffering three heavy losses to Parramatta (40-12), Melbourne (66-16) and Souths (38-22).

They produced a second half surge to beat Brisbane 42-24, but the Tigers have since lost to Manly by 20 points and had a two-point loss to an understrength and out-of-form Warriors side last weekend.

Wests Tigers Team News

The Tigers currently have Asu Kepaoa, Daine Laurie, Luke Garner, Russell Packer, James Roberts and Alex Seyfarth all sidelined, likely for the rest of the year.

Laurie suffered a broken leg in last week's game and his loss will be the one felt the most.

Moses Mbye will fill the custodian role vacated by Laurie. Michael Chee Kam replaces Mbye at centre, James Tamou returns at prop, pushing Alex Twal to the bench.

Thomas Mikaele starts at lock, forcing Joe Ofahengaue to the bench, while Zac Cini returns to the bench at the expense of Tuki Simpkins.
