Canterbury and Newcastle are both locked on 4 competition points in 15th and 14th on the ladder respectively, however, just one more win would see them jump right up into the mix for the eight again and I predict that it is going to be Canterbury get the surprise win as the dog that they are.

Newcastle did look better last week against the Roosters, however, I was more impressed with what the Bulldogs did against the Storm on Friday night, coming back from 10 points down to push Melbourne to the final minutes of the match. The Canterbury defence looked much more organised than it has for years and with Villiame Kikau running wild on the edge, the Bulldogs are unstoppable when the Fijian is getting early ball.
Newcastle have been a shade of the team they were at the end of last season and this Sunday afternoon away game is going to be a difficult spot for them. Honestly, this game is in the balance, but I predict that Canterbury will find the cracks in the Newcastle defence in what will be a very tight contest in my opinion that should not result in the blowouts we saw against these two last season.
With Kikau terrorising the Newcastle line, look for Josh Addo-Carr to reap the rewards on the wing and finding the open space that Kikau attracts and creates.

The left side attack of the Bulldogs is as dangerous, if not the most dangerous, as any team in the NRL with Villiame Kikau back to his career-best form, tearing shreds through the defence with Matt Burton running on his inside and flyer Josh Addo-Carr lurking on the outside.
Connor Tracey has also made a difference at the back for the Bulldogs, primarily organising the defence and also putting in the hard runs and floating around looking for danger.
