Canberra Raiders slipped to a third straight defeat and a fourth in five games when losing to North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville last weekend.

The Raiders led 24-6 shortly before half-time, but failed to register a single point after the 38th minute mark. Canberra ultimately went down by two points in a 26-24 defeat to the Cowboys.

Ricky Stuart's side were beaten 30-10 by ladder leaders the Penrith Panthers in Round 6.

They then failed to score a single point in the second half against Parramatta Eels, who won 35-10 in Canberra two weeks ago.

A shoulder injury rules out Jarrod Crocker, with Sebastian Kris moving into the centres and Bailey Simonsson returning on the wing after a concussion absence.

Josh Papalii is rested by the Raiders with New Zealand international Joseph Tapine coming onto the bench for Canberra.

Matt Timoko has been recalled on the reserves bench.

South Sydney Rabbitohs Form

South Sydney Rabbitohs made it six wins in a row to go third on the ladder with a 6-1 record for the season.

In a points-scoring bonanza, the Rabbitohs ran out 40-30 winners over the Gold Coast Titans in Round 7 with Benji Marshall key in a four-try second-half performance from Souths.

Wayne Bennett's side have reeled off wins over Manly Sea Eagles, Sydney Roosters, Canterbury Bulldogs, Brisbane Broncos and Wests Tigers as well as the Titans.

The Rabbitohs have been scoring points for fun, posting 35 or more in three of their last four wins.

South Sydney Rabbitohs Team News

In a rejig, Cody Walker moves to full-back, Alex Johnston starts on the wing with Josh Mansour ruled out, and Benji Marshall comes into the run-on side at five-eighth.

Having started on the interchange bench last week, Marshall inspired Souths to a four-try second-half to see off the Titans.

Latrell Mitchell remains sidelined through suspension, while Tevita Tatola will need to pass a concussion test to line up in Canberra after being named in the starting line-up.

Patrick Mago and Hame Sele have been named among the Rabbitohs reserves.
