Parramatta have won seven of their last 13 games, while a loss for Canberra will see them drop outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 25, 2018. With a poor record in the capital, the Eels are tipped for another defeat on the road against the Raiders.

Canberra started the season with back-to-back victories against the Wests Tigers 30-12 and Cronulla Sharks 12-10, but they have struggled since.

The Raiders went down 34-31 to the New Zealand Warriors after conceding 28 points in the second half, mostly due to a number of injuries.

Canberra then beat the much improved Gold Coast Titans 20-4 but couldn’t carry the form into last weekend's clash with the undefeated Penrith Panthers as they lost 30-10.

Fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has a neck injury and will be sidelined for an indefinite period of time. He will be replaced by new recruit Caleb Aekins. 

Josh Hodgson has a mild hip injury, but it won’t prevent him from playing this weekend.

In good news for the Raiders, Curtis Scott returns at centre, pushing the in-form Sebastian Kris out of the side. Joseph Tapine is recalled and will line-up at Lock. 

Ryan James is being rested, along with Dunamis Lui. Emre Guler will take up a spot on the bench.

Parramatta Eels Form

Parramatta started the season in brilliant form, winning their opening four games of the year. 

They beat the Brisbane Broncos 24-16 to start the season, followed by an impressive 16-12 win over the reigning premiers Melbourne Storm. 

The Eels beat Cronulla Sharks 28-4 in Round 3 and outlasted a spirited Wests Tigers 36-22 in Round 4. 

Last weekend, the Eels were poor as they went down 26-12 to the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Dylan Brown will miss this week's clash due to receiving a suspension. He will be replaced by Will Smith. 

Ryan Matterson is again named to play after missing the last three weeks recovering from a head knock. 

Isaiah Papali'i and Keegan Hipgrave are on the bench.

Waqa Blake is set to return from his calf injury as early as next week. Ray Stone is expected to be unavailable for another month as he recovers from a shoulder injury.
