Brisbane Broncos vs Parramatta Eels Tips
Brisbane and Parramatta will close out Friday night footy which traditionally sees over 25 000 fans pack into Suncorp Stadium, however this season they will face off at the Gabba for the first time in the two team's history.
The Eels have been successful against the Broncos in the river city, winning on the last three occasions when travelling up to Brisbane.
However, trends are made to be broken especially taking into account the recent form of both clubs. The Broncs are in their best form since their run to the grand final in 2015, while the Eels are struggling to stay in contact with the top 8.
Brisbane have been damaging with the ball in hand so I expect them to beat the line of 10.5 as favourites, carving up the Eels defence and scoring OVER 30 points in the process.
Kotoni Staggs will be up against fill-in Daejarn Asi, who hasn’t won a game while playing at centre, so I expect him to continue his tryscoring form on Friday night.
- 7 of the last 10 games between the Broncos and the Eels have resulted in a margin of 10 points or more.
- Brisbane have won by 16 points or more in each of their last 4 games.
- Brisbane have scored 30 points or more in each of their last 4 games.
- Kotoni Staggs has scored 3 tries in his last 2 games
Head to Head
Brisbane and Parramatta know each other well playing on 10 occasions between the home and away season and finals since 2019. The Eels generally get up for the event against the Broncos, winning the head-to-head stats with seven victories to Brisbane's three.
However, Brisbane have won two of the last three games including their matchup in Darwin in round 8. Brisbane got a wet weather win 26-18, with the rain stopping the Broncos' momentum leading into the break 22-6 at halftime, before the torrential rain hit.
Brisbane Broncos Form
The Broncos are building nicely heading into the finals, getting another impressive victory last week against their Queensland rivals the Cowboys 30-14, getting the job done without veteran halfback Adam Reynolds.
Brisbane are now on a 5-0 run as they sit on equal points with the Penrith Panthers, with a bye-in-hand, at the top of the NRL table.
Brisbane Broncos Team News
Kobe Hetherington and Jordan Riki rejoin the team via the bench with Xavier Willison and Corey Jensen dropping out. Jesse Arthars (head knock) will once again spend some time on the sideline with Deine Mariner slotting in on the wing.
Adam Reynolds is under an injury cloud with Jock Madden on standby.
Payne Haas will play his 100th NRL game.

Parramatta Eels Form
The Eels have not looked convincing in their last five games, winning just twice during that time, including a shaky 26-20 victory over the Dragons last week.
Parramatta have conceded an average of 32 points in their last 5 games with 20 points against the Dragons being their lowest score against.
The Eels have also not been on-song in attack either scoring 16 points or less in three of five games, which is well below their season average of 25 points.
