2019 Dally M Medal Tips, Betting Predictions & Best Bets

The NRL Grand Final is right around the corner but before the Raiders and the Roosters lock horns in Sydney the league is due to award its premier individual honour, the Dally M Medal.

The market thinks it is going to be James Tedesco taking home the top award on Wednesday, but its not always as straight forward as the bookies would have you believe.

We've taken a look at the top players and delivered our best bets for the evening.

Dally M Medal Best Bet - James Tedesco @ $1.30

It's easy to tip a $1.30 favourite heading into an event but there's a reason that James Tedeco is at this short price.

When the voting closed after round 12 Tedesco sat inside the top-six with 12 votes and had a great tail end to the year, helping the Roosters push towards the Grand Final and a shot at back-to-back premierships.

The only thing stopping Teddy from being a $1.01 favourite is the star-studded Roosters outfit that could steal votes from him, but we believe the Tricolours' full back is a deserved favourite heading into the count.

Dally M Medal Next Best - Cameron Smith @ $5.50

The Melbourne Storm captain looks to be a strong chance to win a third Dally M Medal.

When the voting concluded Smith was sitting inside the top-six and had a stellar back half of the season, guiding his team to a minor premiership.

Cam Munster is the obvious danger to steal votes but the Queensland representative wasn't as dynamic as he has been across previous seasons. Smith was his ever-reliable self and his lack of Origin football also means he'll potentially be in the votes for more games than his teammate.

Smith and Tedesco are the only two players in single figures heading into Wednesday's count and it wouldn't surprise us to see either man taking home the medal.

Dally M Medal Outsider - Payne Haas @ $41

The teenage sensation Payne Haas delivered a stellar season for the Broncos, finishing fifth in the league for average metres gained across 2019.

Haas also has the X-Factor, which is what gains players votes. When he plays well, the team usually delivers and he doesn't just star, he stands out.

It might be a bridge too far given how dominant Cam Smith and James Tedesco should be, but Haas could cause a shock if he's close enough towards the end of the count.

Who will win the 2019 Dally M Medal?

We're predicting that James Tedesco takes out the 2019 Dally M Medal.

Two-time winner Cameron Smith will also be in contention, with Payne Haas our best roughie of the evening.

James Tedesco should cap off a memorable year by taking out the 2019 Dally M Medal.

Cam Smith looks to be Teddy's main danger, with Brisbane's Payne Haas the most likely to cause an upset at odds.
