At the head of the betting in the Triple J Hottest 100 in 2023, you can back Doja Cat (Paint The Town Red) ($1.85) and The Troye Sivan (Rush) ($3.25) as the big favourites right now.

Behind them, you can back MK & Dom Dolla (Rhyme Dust) ($3.75), boygenius (Not Strong Enough) ($7.00), Billie Elish (What Was I Made For?) ($10.00) and G Flip (The Worst Person Alive) ($11.00).

In 2022, Flume won for the best song with 'Say Nothing', beating out competition from Baddest of Them All (Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal), Hardlight (Spacey Jane), Bad Habit (Steve Lacy) and It's Been a Long Day (Spacey Jane).

While it was very impressive that Spacey Jane had three songs inside the top 10, the plaudits went to Flume for finishing at the summit.

Triple J Hottest 100 allows members of the public to vote online for their top 10 songs of the year between a certain period. These votes are then used to calculate the year's 100 most popular songs.

Say Nothing by Flume and May-a took the title from the Wiggles and their song Elephant (Like a Version) in 2021, which followed Glass Animals' 'Heat Wave' the year before.

With the top songs and artists to be announced soon, the betting has only gotten more interesting. Favourites have emerged and picks have drifted. Which song and artist do you think will secure the crown this year?
