Detroit were very strong at home last season and won their opener against KC Chiefs which gives me all i need to jump on the bandwagon this year and take them to cover first up as they have done in 16 of their last 21 games.

No matter which way this game goes you can expect a lot of passing. These two QB’s swapped teams prior to the 2021 season and in an extraordinary turn of events have both improved at their new homes. - The Rams allowed 23.2 Points per game to their opponent last season, 10th most in the NFL

With Matt Stafford at the helm the Rams were an above average attacking team last season ranking top 10 for Pass yards and Points scored as well as 11th in Rush Yards.

Jonah Jackson and Kevin Dotson both penned 3 year contracts while the Rams also acquired Jimmy Garoppolo from the Raiders as backup to Stafford. The motivation being that Jimmy G will be more readily available to “go out and get a win” should Stafford pull up injured through the season.

Detroit were one of the best attacking teams last season ranking top 5 in Passing and Rushing Yards as well as Points Scored. The Lions went 2-1 in their Pre-Season hitouts with a first up loss to the Giants followed by victories over KC and the Steelers. None of the major names played in these games Donovan Peoples-Jones probably the biggest to suit up.

The Lions resigned some talent and added some key names to bolster their secondary and O-Line. They have improved year on year under coach Dan Campbell and the trajectory is expected to continue with multiple experts having them as a Superbowl team. Hendon Hooker looks to have cemented his spot as QB2.
