Jacksonville had to be one of the disappointing performances of the 2023-24 season missing out on the playoffs after going 1-5 in their final 6 games of the year after starting 8-3.

The biggest factor was the performance of QB Trevor Lawrence, who didn’t really live up to the hype he created after his second year behind center where he led the Jags to a remarkable playoff win. The Prince (as some would call him) had a passer rating of 88.5% which ranked him as the 21st-best in the league. He threw 14 interceptions to just 21 touchdowns and was ranked just 17th in the NFL with an average of 10.9 yards gained per catch.

Jacksonville’s defence was average, ranked in the top ten in opposition rushing yards, however, they had more trouble in their secondary sitting 26th in the NFL allowing 4076 passing yards in 2023-24.

Besides re-signing Trevor Lawrence and pass rusher Josh Allen to monster contracts, the next biggest moves were trading down for wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. who had 17 touchdowns and 1,177 yards for LSU in his final year.

On the defensive side of the ball, The Jaguars brought in Arik Armstead from San Francisco to help with their rushing defence, while also picking up cornerback Ronald Darby to help improve their pass defence.
