Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints made it hard for the Philadelphia Eagles, especially in the last couple of minutes, but ultimately went down 40-29. Although there were more downs than ups, Sean Payton could take pleasure knowing they pushed them all the way and the mini fightback.
Head to Head
The Saints love playing the Buffalo Bills as they have beaten them in their last five games, with the most recent game being in 2017.
Buffalo Bills Form
The Bills were not up to the task when they hosted the Indianapolis Colts. The Bills’ 26-point defeat to the Colts highlighted some major worries for Sean McDermott’s men especially in defence.
Buffalo gave up too much space for the Colts offense, missed key tackles and didn’t execute the basics well at all.
Star quarterback Josh Allen showed glimpses, throwing two touchdown passes, completing 21 from 35 attempts and throwing 209 yards. However, he did get found out by the Colts defensive team as he got sacked once and threw two interceptions.
Despite the defeat, runningback Matt Breida played well trying to spark the Bills as he rushed 55 yards from five attempts.
The loss to the Colts means they have now lost three games from their previous five.
New Orleans Saints Form
The New Orleans Saints suffered their third consecutive loss when going down to the Eagles by 11 points.
The Saints never really looked in the contest against the Eagles, especially in the first half when Philadelphia made their drives count and used the running game to good effect. The damage was done in the middle of the park, finding holes in the Saints defence.
New Orleans came back into the contest as they just kept finding a way to score touchdowns to make it a little nervy for the Eagles, but falling short.
This was the case when Trevor Siemian got a rushing touchdown in the 12th minute of the fourth quarter. He threw his third touchdown in the last couple of minutes, but by then Eagles quarterback Jaylen Hurts had put the nail in the coffin as they went down by 11 points.
Siemian delivered when the Saints needed him to and, although they lost the game, he impressed with three touchdown passes, completing 22 from 40 attempts and throwing 214 yards.
