Channel 7 To Broadcast The Adelaide Autumn Carnival

Racing fans will get to experience the Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival on free-to-air television after Channel 7 announced it will simulcast Racing.com's coverage over the next three weeks.

The joint production will ensure that punters are able to watch not just the Morphettville features but also all the racing in Victoria.

Channel 7 confirmed the arrangement with Racing Victoria and Thoroughbred Racing SA to showcase Racing.com's coverage, taking in Saturday's Group One Australiasian Oaks and Robert Sangster Stakes meeting, followed seven days later by SA Derby Day before concluding with the Group One Goodwood a week later on May 16.

In Victoria over the next three weeks, Channel 7 will showcase racing from Sandown with Ladbrokes Park Race Day, from Caulfield with the National Hall of Fame Race Day and from Flemington, which includes the Andrew Ramsden Stakes.

Channel Seven has also secured Queensland Racing, with four days of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival to be broadcast.

The managing director of Channel 7 Melbourne and head of Network Sport Lewis Martin said the agreement is about bringing racing back to the masses.

"We're so happy to be working with the racing bodies and Racing.com to deliver more live and free thoroughbred racing for the fans," Martin said.

"It's been a great collaboration and we can all look forward to some outstanding racing over the coming weeks."

Racing.com chief executive Andrew Catterall welcomed Channel 7's commitment to broadcast Racing.com's thoroughbred racing coverage over the next three Saturdays.

"This is an excellent outcome for Racing.com as we work with Channel 7 to showcase our race-day coverage to a broader audience," Catterall said.

"The new arrangements completely align with our core mission to engage more people with Victorian thoroughbred racing and will have a positive impact on wagering for both Victoria and our partners, South Australian racing.

"We have an excellent month of racing coming up on Racing.com, headlined by the three Group 1 Saturdays from the Adelaide Carnival and the Warrnambool Carnival.

"This new arrangement is a terrific recognition of the strength of our race-day production, with engagement in our broadcast, digital and social assets at record highs.

"We thank Channel 7 and our wagering partners, Sportsbet, BetEasy and bet365, for their support of this initiative.

"Racing.com's broadcast will be led by our hosts Jason Richardson and Terry McAuliffe, and form experts Clint Hutchison, James Jordan and Nic Ashman, with our outstanding caller Matt Hill in Melbourne and South Australia's Brett Davis."

Racing.com provides free-to-air coverage of Victorian and South Australian thoroughbred racing on Channel 78 in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth; Channel 68 in regional Victoria, NSW, Qld, WA and ACT, and on Foxtel's pay-TV Channel 529.
