Yarra Valley Racing Tips For January 15 - Will Iknewshewasmine blunder the start again?

Yarra Valley is set to host eight races on what is currently a Heavy rated track.

The rail sits out three metres so I think the closer you are to the pace, the better your chances of winning will be. Towards the end of the day, we will see the leaders shift off the rail to find that better ground in the middle of the track.

Yarra Valley Best Bet

Race 8 No. 1 Iknewshewasmine

She was a huge winner two back at Cranbourne before missing the start in stronger grade at her latest.

She still ran incredibly well finishing third just over a length behind subsequent winner Written Gem.

She finds herself back in benchmark 58 grade with just 1kg more than her win two back, so she is very well in with a claim. Barrier two with little speed in the race, she maps to jump straight to the front and simply prove a class above this lot.

She  should have won in 64 grade last start which would mean she is a 70 class horse, but finds herself in a very moderate 58 with just 59kg on her back.

Race 4 No. 3 Mister Ballistic

When Freedman brings a horse to the country circuit first up from a spell, that needs to be the first horse you look at in the race.

He has had two career runs for two placings, both on the synthetic.

His first-up run last time in was a five length second to Extreme Pride who measured up to win races during the Spring Carnival. That type of opposition is so much stronger than this race he faces today, in fact I think Extreme Pride would come back and win this by a minute if her were to run in it again.

Barrier two looks perfect where they can camp just in behind the speed and hopefully one of the fence, just enough room for jockey Clayton Douglas to have some air when he needs it.
