MAGIC MILLIONS WYONG 3YO & 4YO STAKES Tips (Race 3)
Wyong Best Bet - Race 3 No. 5 Barbaric
Winning both starts in his second racing preparation is this colt from the Peter & Paul Snowden yard who will be aimed towards the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas (1400m) in January but resuming here at 1200m off a strong trial win, he's more than capable of taking out this $100,000 feature before heading north.
By I Am Invincible and out of a dual group winning mare in Mimi Lebrock, Barbaric was sold for a hefty $900,000 as a yearling and went some way to justifying the price tag with a comfortable Maiden win over Joviality (subsequently won three in town and Listed placed) before a tough victory in the Group Three Black Opal Stakes before being spelled.
Although he'll likely get testing conditions on Wednesday (track currently a Soft 7 and more rain is predicted), both of them wins did come on a Soft 6 and from barrier three under James McDonald where he should get a lovely trail off a good speed set by Yao Dash (blinkers on) and Spaceboy, the map does favour this three-year-old.

Wyong Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 On Her Word
An interesting runner returning off a long spell and one that has also accepted for Kensington on Thursday where although she has drawn better for the Sydney contest, this looks a far easier assignment for this mare who on ability, is the most talented galloper in this line-up.
Following a Maiden victory at Warwick Farm at start three, On Her Word was spelled following a third-placed finish behind Haut Brion Her (arguably the best sprinting mare in the country now) and has had just the one start since which resulted in a second behind Brazenpine and defeated a handy one in Peak (won two of his next three) in the process.
Whilst she was there to win her November 25 trial at Gosford, it was the fastest 800m trial that day and at 33.50, has also comfortably rattled off the slickest last 600m for that morning when stretching out strongly under Louise Day, who stays aboard for race day and gets this four-year-old in well after the 1.5kg claim.

Wyong Value Bet - Race 6 No. 8 Benfica Maid
Most of this field doesn't win out of turn which admittedly does include this five-year-old but she does handle any surface (won two from three on Heavy ground) and her last two performances suggest she's not all that far away in the right set-up.
Benfica Maid recorded her last victory back in May on a wet track and her form either side of that does read quite well with placings behind city class gallopers in Kirwan's Lane, Stockman, Loveseat and Amica with Majella adding to that with a win at Warwick Farm on December 9 (she was runner-up to her two starts back).
It's well worth forgiving the last start effort at Nowra where after travelling quite well from off the speed, was severely inconvenienced when attempting a rail's run and no doubt should've been in the finish whilst on Wednesday, she gets the services of senior jockey Tim Clark who was aboard on November 18 when she just missed.
