Read the reasons for our selections below:
Scone - Race 1 No. 7 The Dramatist
THE DRAMATIST carries 54.5kg after the Reece Jones claim, who was aboard for a Class 1 win on Tamworth Cup Day where they defied an inside and on-speed pattern to that point, proving too classy despite covering ground. Although this four-year-old is still learning the caper, local trainer Rod Northam has a handy galloper on his hands.
Flemington - Race 1 No. 6 Doull
DOULL was a $1.2 million purchase and has the pedigree to match, by a champion sire out of a stakes winning two-year-old. He comes from the right camp for two-year-old racing and has trialed up very well in preparation for debut. The one to beat.
Scone - Race 6 No. 13 I Am Me
I AM ME couldn't be in better touch for this black-type attempt, with the Maher & Eustace three-year-old arriving off a winning hat-trick and is back against the fillies after making light work of Florescent Star at Flemington, who is no slouch. With tactical speed versus many rivals that have had chances, she can win again.
Flemington - Race 6 No. 9 Arran Bay
ARRAN BAY should have won last start but hung in when put under pressure, going down a head on the line. Plummets 7kg for this race including in-form apprentice Alana Kelly's claim. Recorded some superb wins in SA when last in work and was very close up in a strong Flemington race to finish off the campaign. He has improved this time in and from gate seven, should find some cover off the speed and hopefully proving too good late in the piece.
Morphettville - Race 8 No. 6 Detonator Jack
No major knock on the fav Alegron, who is perhaps even the safer option, but Detonator Jack is the more progressive of the two and he looks set for a peak. He's unbeaten from three outings, winning over 1400m and then 1600m to open his account, beating subsequent Sydney winner Hameron in the second win. The son of Jakkalberry stepped to the 2100m at his latest and disposed of The Nephew and Commander Harry, ticking the Soft 7 box along the way at Sandown. Prepared by the powerful Maher & Eustace yard, this gelding will again be partnered by John Allen, who has ridden four of the last six South Australian Derby winners.
Multibet FAQs
What is a multibet?
A multibet is a combination of bets rolled into one wager. You can increase the odds by adding selections. A multibet must consist of at least two selections.
What is the minimum stake for a multibet?
There is no minimum - you could place as little as $1 on your multibet.
How is a multibet calculated?
The odds are combined to give you a total price for the multi. When you win on leg one, that amount is then rolled onto leg two and so on. The winning price is your rolling stake placed on the final leg of the multi.
